Thursday, Nov. 1

Parkinson's support group at WMH

Westfield Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Mayville Senior Citizens

The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

Quilt exhibit

A quilt exhibit begins Monday, Oct. 22 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Ripley Free Library. Stop in to view some of the area's talented quilters. Admission is free.

Friday, Nov. 2

Christmas craft show

The Mayville United Methodist Church, 81 S. Erie St., will hold a Christmas craft show with over 20 vendors on Friday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with take outs available. The event is handicapped accessible.

Presbyterian Church fundraiser dinners

The First Presbyterian Church, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield, will be holding fundraiser dinners on Fridays this fall from 5 to 6:30 p.m., to benefit building restoration and mission outreach. The cost for dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. All dinners include a beverage and homemade dessert. Sit down, takeout and delivery are available. For delivery, call 326-2643 by noon on the day of the dinner.

On Nov. 2, dinner will be chicken with stuffing, corn, squash, Harvard beets, cranberry-orange relish and choice of pie. For more information, call 326-2643.

Saturday, Nov. 3

St. Peter's annual auction

St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 12 Elm St., Westfield, will hold its annual auction on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m., and a silent auction at 9 a.m. There's just something about a live auction that engages imagination and interest. Don't forget to mark the calendar for the live event. Items for auctioning include antiques, furniture, household/kitchen items, gifts, toys, art and crafts. Baked goods will be available for sale. Think Christmas a Country Bazaar

Think Christmas a Country Bazaar will be held at Brocton Central School on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event is sponsored by ETA TAU Sorority. Food and drinks will be available to purchase.

Christmas Craft Bazaar

It is time for the annual Christmas Craft Bazaar in Findley Lake. The bazaar will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the fire hall on Main St., Findley Lake, N.Y. A variety of crafters and bakers from the surrounding area will be selling their handmade items. The kitchen committee will be serving a variety of homemade lunch items and pie throughout the day.

Participating crafters have donated items for a silent auction, there will be a 50/50 raffle, free door prize drawings throughout the day and admission is free.

The bazaar is sponsored by the Alexander Findley Library who will receive the proceeds.

Tuesday, Nov. 6

Election night special

There will be an Election night special, a chicken and biscuit dinner, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 12 Elm St., Westfield on Nov. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under.

Bicycling through Australia is Tuesday Club subject

Verna Feather of Jamestown is a bicyclist extraordinaire who has covered a lot of territory through the years and will tell about her trip around Australia when the Mayville Tuesday Club meets at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the Mayville library.

Wednesday, Nov. 7

Chicken and biscuit dinner

The Portland Congregational Church will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner at the church on Church St., in Portland on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu will be chicken and biscuits with gravy, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, vegetable, dessert and drink.

Westfield Senior Citizens

The Westfield Senior Citizens meet on the second Thursday of the month at the YWCA Westfield at noon.

Parkinson's support group at Absolut Care

The Absolut Care of Westfield's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the second Thursday of the month in the Absolut Care Activity Room from 4 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 10

Annual Veterans Day dinner

VFW Post 6764 at 34 Pearl St., Westfield is celebrating the U.S. Marine Corps birthday and holding its annual Veteran's Day dinner on Saturday, Nov. 10. Posting of Colors will be at 3 p.m., and hors d'oeuvre, theme music social hour and cash bar will last until 5 p.m., followed with Veterans Day remembrance remarks and dinner at approximately 5:30 p.m. USMC ceremonial cake cutting will follow. VFW members, their families and Auxiliary are all welcome. Advance sign-up is necessary, so stop by the post or call 326-2613.

Swiss steak dinner

The Sherman Community Church, 107 Church St., Sherman, will hold its annual Swiss steak dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 10 in the Church Fellowship Hall. Take-outs are available and the hall is handicap accessible. Prices are $9 for adults and $5 for student.

Monday, Nov. 12

Clymer-French Creek library book club

The Clymer-French Creek Free Library is having a book club, Plots and Pizza, for children in fourth through eighth grades. The meetings will be from 5 to 6 p.m., every second Monday of the month. Library officials will discuss what types of books children would like to read for future meeting. Those who already have a new library card can call the library at 355-8823 or email to register. Sherman gun raffle

The Sherman Stanley Hose Company Fire Department's 24th annual Fall Gun Raffle and party will be held Saturday, Nov. 10. Doors open at 7 p.m. The event takes place at the Stanley Hose Co. Community Hall, 122 Park St., Sherman. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the Stanley Hose Company, Sherman area businesses or at the door.
