MAYVILLE - There were 46 members of the Mayville Senior Citizens who met for lunch at the Mayville VFW in September. The table committee was Louise Richir, Dolly Gilbert, Bonnie Johnson and Mary Carlson.
Chaplain Dianne Goodrich gave the invocation before the seniors enjoyed the many casseroles and desserts.
President Joyce Ayers led the group in the flag salute and then conducted the business meeting. Secretary Izetta Ayling read the minutes and correspondences and treasurer gave her report.
Goodwill Chair Mary Carlson listed those celebrating their special birthday: life member Loretta Spielman; life member Betty Walters; Rose Latimer; John Kroll; Ernestine Cruzado; Jeff Wagner; Shirley Zentz; Jo Ann Westpfhal; Lois Maloy; and Rex Wilson. Bonnie and Doug Johnson and Jim and Arleen Kurtz are celebrating their wedding anniversaries.
Trip Co-chair Sandy Anderson announced the payment for the Riverside Theater is due in November. The bus is full, but there is a waiting list in case there are any cancellations.
Program chairman, Bill Tornstrom introduce Undersheriff Charles Holder who spoke about the F.B.I. Training Center at Quantico, Va. Training for all aspects of law enforcement is available to all police agencies in the United States at that facility.
Ayers announced dues for 2013 may be paid at anytime now. Also the Harvest Dinner will be on a Saturday in November with the exact date to be announced soon. This will be by reservation only. A sign-up sheet was available at the October meeting. The person called for the lottery was not there, so it grows. Ayling won the door prize.
The next meeting of the Mayville Senior Citizens will be on Nov. 1 at noon in the Mayville VFW. All area residents 55 and older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.
