Clair O. Wood, 84, formerly of Fluvanna Townline Road, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, in the home of his daughter in Williamsburg, Va.
He was born June 2, 1928, in Jamestown, a son of the late Joseph and Hazel Chris Wood.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Blackstone Corporation for 45 years as a tester.

He was a member of Ellery Post 575 VFW and a 50-year member of War Vets Recreation.
Surviving are three daughters, Sue Colman of Yorktown, Va., and Beth Ferrai and Kathy (Glen) Belvin both of Williamsburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Holmes of Brocton, N.Y.
Besides his, parents he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gladys Hetrick; two sons, Daniel and David Wood; a daughter, Jackie Ropps; a grandson, Joseph Colman; two brothers, Alvin and Arvid Wood; and a sister, Alice Wood.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13 in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev Dayle F. Keefer officiated. Burial was in Fluvanna Cemetery. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday in the funeral home.
