BROCTON - The New York State Police arrested German Lesmes, 53, of Fredonia for second-degree promoting prison contraband.
This arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the State Police, New York State Inspector General's Office, New York State Department of Correctional Services and the Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office over an eight-month-period.
Lesmes, who is a correctional officer at Lakeview Correctional Facility in Brocton, is accused of bringing contraband into the facility and providing it to several inmates. The contraband is described as food items, which is also a violation of the New York State Correctional Services rules and regulations. Lesmes was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Portland Town Justice Court at a later date and released.
Douglas E. Nelson
FALCONER - New York State Police Jamestown arrested Douglas E. Nelson, 48, of Falconer and Greenhurst for second-degree criminal sexual act, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marihuana on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
The defendant was arraigned in Ellington Town Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail on $25,000 cash or $50,000 property bail. It is alleged Nelson had inappropriate relationships with children in Chautauqua County and the surrounding areas. The investigation is continuing in an attempt to identify any other possible children who may have had contact with Nelson.
