Westfield Senior Citizens

The Westfield Senior Citizens meet on the second Thursday of the month at the YWCA Westfield at noon.

Parkinson's support group at Absolut Care

The Absolut Care of Westfield's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the second Thursday of the month in the Absolut Care Activity Room from 4 to 5 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 12

Presbyterian Church fundraiser dinners

The First Presbyterian Church, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield, will be holding fundraiser dinners on Fridays this fall from 5 to 6:30 p.m., to benefit building restoration and mission outreach. The cost for dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. All dinners include a beverage and homemade dessert. Sit down, takeout and delivery are available. For delivery, call 326-2643 by noon on the day of the dinner.

On Oct. 12, dinner will be roast pork with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, seasoned green beans, baked apples, homemade rolls and fruit pie. On Oct. 19, dinner will be meatloaf with potato stuffing, vegetable medley, molded salad, homemade rolls and desert buffet. On Oct. 26, dinner will be cheesy potatoes, peas, applesauce, sunset salad, corn muffins and cake buffet. On Nov. 2, dinner will be chicken with stuffing, corn, squash, Harvard beets, cranberry-orange relish and choice of pie. For more information, call 326-2643.

Sunday, Oct. 14

Pistol permit class

The Westfield Fish and Game Club on Ogden Rd., Westfield will hold a pistol permit class on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. Any interested must pre-register. Call Dave Nichols at 581-0739.

Vietnam Veterans meeting

Chapter no. 459 of the Vietnam Veterans of America will hold its monthly meeting on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m., at the John T. Murray VFW Post no. 1017, 113 Deer St., Dunkirk. All Vietnam and Vietnam-era personnel are invited.

Monday, Oct. 15

Fall fundraiser dinner for Westfield Memorial Hospital

The Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Inc., is sponsoring a fall fundraiser dinner on Monday, Oct. 15 in the Lakeshore Assembly of God Fellowship Hall, 252 E. Main St., Westfield. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 5 p.m. until the food is gone. Dessert and beverage is included. Donations are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Take-outs will be available.

As always, proceeds from Auxiliary fundraisers are used to fund projects that benefit Westfield Memorial Hospital.

Murder mystery

The Ripley Free Library will hold a murder mystery fundraiser, "Death is a Cabernet," on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Noble Winery in Westfield. Audience participation will be part of the performance. Tickets are on sale now. Call 736-3913.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

Spaghetti dinner

St. Dominic Parish Westfield worship site is hosting its fall spaghetti dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the church hall, 15 Union Street, Westfield. Dine in or take out is available. Dinner includes a generous portion of spaghetti, homemade sauce and meatballs, bread, salad, refreshment and dessert. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children.

Saturday, Oct. 20

Meatloaf dinner and bake sale

The Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church will hold a meatloaf dinner on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Included in the $7 donation are mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, dessert and a beverage. Carry-outs available. Also, during the hours of the dinner, the UM women's group will host a delicious bake sale. Feel free to stop in and buy goodies even if not having dinner. Proceeds of the bake sale support Operation Christmas Child shoebox expenses.

Westfield Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Mayville Senior Citizens

The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

Saturday, Nov. 3

St. Peter's annual auction

St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 12 Elm St., Westfield, will hold its annual auction on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m., and a silent auction at 9 a.m. There's just something about a live auction that engages imagination and interest. Don't forget to mark the calendar for the live event. Items for auctioning include antiques, furniture, household/kitchen items, gifts, toys, art and crafts. Baked goods will be available for sale.
