WESTFIELD - The Town of Westfield will hold its Fall Clean-up Day on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Westfield Transfer Station on Bourne St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be holding its eWaste and Tire Recycle Collection on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Town Barn, 118 Chestnut St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The trash turn-in day is for Town of Westfield residents only. The following items will not be accepted: tires or batteries; liquids, flammables or combustible items; medical or hazardous waste; refrigeration, freezer or air condition units; water coolant items or any item with Freon in them; electronics such as computers, monitors, televisions, etc.; and big metal items.
The eWaste and Tire Recycle Collection is open to Westfield Town and Village residents only. The following home electronic items are eligible for turn-in at no charge: computers; VCRs; televisions; DVRs; small scale servers; fax machines; monitors; scanners; keyboards and mice; electronic or video game consoles; printers; portable digital music players; DVD players; cable or satellite receivers; digital converter boxes; and cell Phones.
The following items are not eligible for the eWaste and Tire Recycle Collection: any liquids or powders; batteries; fluorescent lamps; kitchen appliances; air conditioners; dehumidifiers; and items exceeding 100 pounds such as large copiers, large printers, etc.
For complete data security, remove and destroy hard drive prior to recycling
Tires can be turned-in for the following fees:
Up to 19" - dismounted and not originating from a commercial establishment - $2 each;
Large truck tires, $7.50 each; and
Tractor tires, $20.
