Electric users can apply for free tree

WESTFIELD - The Village of Westfield has available seven different varieties of trees for its 2012 fall tree planting program, available for Village and Town of Westfield residents.

The are green spruce, Norway spruce, red maple, sugar maple, flowering trees of the grower's choice, honey locust and little leaf lindon. These 100 trees have been made available through the New York State Power Authority, endorsed by both the Municipal Electric Utilities Association and the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association, Inc.

Westfield Electrical Customers may order one tree. Multiple accounts do not apply. Orders may be placed at the Village of Westfield, located in Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield. A copy of an electric bill must be shown at the time of ordering. The ordering deadline is Thursday, Sept. 20.

Note these trees are not for resale and are provided to the customer to be planted only on their property within the Westfield Electric Service area.
