Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

WESTFIELD - Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue is hosting Responsible Dog Ownership Day on Saturday, Sept. 15 from noon to 5 p.m.

Presented by local trainer Kristin Yonkers, this nationally recognized American Kennel Club event guides dog owners to raise happy, healthy dogs who can be family companions for the lifetime of the pet. The activities for the day will highlight the many tools, tips and tricks to keep the family dog well balanced physically and socially.

In addition to games, prizes and giveaways, a silent auction will be held to raise funds for NCCR. The shelter will be open from noon to 3 p.m., for visitors who would like to meet the dogs in need of homes.

The event will be held at NCCR's Canine Learning Center, located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield. The center offers classes, training and lectures on topics that help owners enjoy better relationships with their dogs.
