MAYVILLE - Ashley Crandall of Mayville recently competed at the 2012 New York State Fair 4-H dressage senior level competition in Syracuse.
Ashley competed in four classes with her horse Kyla, and together they placed in all events receiving one fourth place, two fifth places and one sixth place at the state level for 4-H competition.
Riders are selected for the state fair based on their scores at the local 4-H shows and the Chautauqua County Fair horse show. At the state fair, the competition takes place among all qualified riders from the entire state.

Ashley has been involved with the Chautauqua County 4-H horse program for the past eight years as a member of the Chautauqua County Junior Trail Riders, where she currently serves as the president of the club. Ashley is a sophomore at Chautauqua Lake School.
