A ribbon cutting event on Friday, Aug. 31 celebrated the grand opening of the new location for Add Lumber and True Value on Route 20 in the Town of Westfield.
On had were Westfield Town Supervisor Martha Bills, Westfield Village Clerk Vince Luce representing the Village, True Value Retail Consultant Mark Dierdorf and True Value Senior Director of Retail Operations Bruce Carrozzi. Dierdorf presented a plaque on behalf of True Value to Dziduch after the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Bills thanked Dziduch on behalf of the town for supporting Westfield, and added she hopes the community appreciates the store and helps it continue its progress. Luce thanked Dziduch on behalf of the village and shared appreciation.
Dziduch said he had been looking for a better, newer location for a while. With the help of True Value, he decided it was time to make the move. The move to the new location, which was previously a car dealership, had been in progress for about a year. Part of the preparations included building a new barn-style building in the back of the property.
Dziduch has owned and operated Add Lumber and True Value in Westfield since 1998. All True Value stores are independently owned. Along with his wife, Diane, Dziduch's children are also involved in this business as well. In addition to the Westfield location, which employs seven people, Dziduch runs stores in Dunkirk, Irving and North East, Pa.
The old Add Lumber and True Value location was purchased by the Village of Westfield for $170,000.
