WESTFIELD - Evelyn Rivera-Baez, 48, of Union St., Westfield was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, speed in zone and one head light on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
According to the police office, a patrolman was on E. Main St., in the Village of Westfield when they allegedly observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed for zone on E. Main St., with a head light out around at 1:45 a.m. Officers stopped the vehicle, which was being operated by a Rivera-Baez, and upon further investigation it was determined the Rivera-Baez privileges to operate a vehicle in New York State were allegedly suspended. Rivera-Baez was issued traffic tickets and will appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date to answer the charges.
WESTFIELD - A 16-year-old Westfield youth of Washington St., Westfield was charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, penal section 260.10(1) on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
According to the police office, police were called for a check of the well being of five children all under the age of nine on Washington St., in the Village of Westfield around 3:15 p.m. According to the, call the children had been left home alone with no adult supervision. Upon arriving at the residence, it was found allegedly that children ages 1, 2, 5, 8 and 9 were left home. After the investigation, it was allegedly found that a 16-year-old Westfield youth was babysitting and had left the house and children unattended. The 16-year-old youth was issued appearance tickets and will appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date.
WESTFIELD - Joshua D. Mccune, 26, of Watson Ave., Westfield was charged with second-degree harassment, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and three counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief on Wednesday, Aug. 29.
According to the police office, police responded to a report of a domestic in progress at around 11:15 p.m. Upon arrival, the victim alleged her husband, Mccune, had damaged property inside their residence and used physical force to prevent her from leaving the residence. Mccune was taken into custody, arraigned in Westfield Village Court and released on his own recognizes. He will return in Westfield Village Court om a later date.
