MAYVILLE - The Chautauqua County Society of Artists recently held their annual Art in The Park show in July at Mayville's Lakeside Park.
The judge for was Marilynn Ryan-Piper, a retired county art teacher. Bill Smith was chosen as the best of show winner for his creative kaleidoscope photo of the Athenaeum at Chautauqua Institution.
The Blue Ribbon Winners for 2012 are Laurie McGrath for her dog pencil sketch; Denise Snyder-Norberg for her hummingbird watercolor; Audrey Schafer for her acrylic painting; Dorothy MacLees for her dried flower eagle; Julie Nelson for her flowers copper tooling; Elaine Caflisch for her ship vase china painting; Ann Jackson for her necklace beading; Margaret Braun for her painted bird ornament; Linda Mason for her textile hat; Emma Duncanson for her tooth fairy doll; Henry Gervaise for his shaker basket; Smith for his photography; Gordon Brumagin for his Satan's Stallion photo; and Ron Nasca for his stoneware vase.

The Chautauqua County Society of Artists meets at 6 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month in the Celoron Community Building at Lucille Ball Memorial Park. The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday and will feature artist Lisa Grobaski demonstrating a unique artistic technique.
