WESTFIELD - All students, teachers and other school personnel are invited to receive a special blessing on Sunday, Sept. 2 during the 10 a.m. Worship Service, at St. Peter's, 12 Elm Street in Westfield, N.Y.
The Backpack Blessing is an opportunity for families and friends to connect with others who care. Prayers for safety, achievement and growth throughout the coming school year will be offered. Students should bring their backpacks. This service recognizes the importance of children and school personnel. It reminds them a community of people is praying for them. Research supports positive affirmation, and what better way to start off the new school year. St. Peters is inclusive to everyone, and anyone is welcome to attend.
New for this year is a dynamic Sunday school program developed by St. Peter's own parishioners. The first class will begin the following Sunday, Sept 9 at 9:45 a.m. The church knows parents will be as excited about their child's experience as it is. This will be a class rotation program that teaches the same bible story over a four to six week period, creating a full and rich experience that will utilize various activities such as crafts, videos, music, cooking and drama. St. Peter's is fortunate to offer the special talents of its own parishioners to provide this experience. Read more at St Peter's Sunday school on the web.
Plan to stay for light refreshments and friendly conversation afterwards. St. Peter's looks forward to welcoming people and helping to make this school year the best it can be.
