WESTFIELD Alexa E. McMurray, 22, of East Main Street in Westfield was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail on charges of Class B Felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of Class B Felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

According to the police office, it initiated a long-term narcotics investigation involving McMurray. In furtherance of this investigation, the Village of Westfield Police Department, assisted by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at East Main Street in the Village of Westfield around 3:45 p.m. The search warrant had been issued by Chautauqua County Court Judge John Ward. At the time the search warrant was executed, officers had arrest warrants for McMurray, also signed by Judge Ward. She was allegedly found in her residence and, during the search warrant, officers allegedly located over an ounce of cocaine and a large amount of United States currency. During this investigation, numerous associates of McMurray were allegedly identified. This investigation is continuing and further arrests are anticipated.

McMurray was arraigned in front of Judge Thomas and committed to jail on $40,000 cash or $80,000 property bail. McMurray was arrested on the Chautauqua County Court warrant and committed to jail until she can be arraigned in county court.

WESTFIELD - Ronald Newsom, 57, of Musey Avenue in Elyria, Ohio was charged with speed in zone and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

According to the police office, police stopped a vehicle operated by Newsom on West Main Street for an alleged traffic infraction around 3:30 a.m. During the stop, it was allegedly found that Newsom's license was suspended. Newsom was charged, arraigned in Westfield Village Court and is due back on a later date.

WESTFIELD - A 17-year-old male youth of Maple Street in Westfield was charged with breaking curfew on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

According to the police, officers investigated an alleged suspicious male in the area of Market Street in the Village of Westfield around 12:15 a.m. During the investigation, it was allegedly found the male in question was only 17 years of age. The male was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date.

WESTFIELD - An 18-year-old Dunkirk male was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on a violation of probation warrant on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

According to the police office, police were contacted by the Dunkirk Probation office around 12:15 p.m., which stated it had a male in its office who allegedly had an active violation of probation warrant out of the Westfield Village Court. The warrant was confirmed and the male was arraigned in Westfield Village Court and remanded to jail.

WESTFIELD - Kurt Kraemer, 52, of Dewittville was charged with unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed operator and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

According to the police office, police stopped a vehicle operated by Kraemer on East Main Street in the Village of Westfield for an alleged traffic infraction around 7:45 p.m. During the stop, it was allegedly found that Kraemer had an expired license as well as a suspended license. Kraemer was issued traffic tickets and will appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date.

WESTFIELD - Jason M. Seekings, 26, of Colfax Street in Jamestown was charged with speed in zone and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator on Saturday, Aug. 11.

According to the police office, police stopped a vehicle operated by Seekings on Chestnut Street for an alleged traffic infraction around 8:30 p.m. During the stop, it was allegedly found that Seekings' license was suspended. Seekings was charged and is due back in Westfield Village Court on a later date.

WESTFIELD - Walter C. Lanneaux, 29, of Washington Street in Westfield was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail on charges of petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Sunday, Aug. 12.

According to the police office, police were called to Family Dollar Store located on East main Street in the Village of Westfield for a shoplifting complaint at around 5:15 p.m. Upon arrival, Lanneaux was allegedly found to be in possession of merchandise he had taken from Family Dollar and not paid for. Lanneaux was taken into custody and later arraigned in Westfield Village Court. He was remanded to jail on $2,000 cash and $4,000 property bail.

WESTFIELD - Chandler Pool, 21, of Pearl Street in Westfield was charged with open container on Sunday, Aug. 12.

According to the police office, a patrolman was walking the beat on East Main Street in the Village of Westfield around 10 p.m. The officer allegedly observed Pool with an open container of alcohol in a public parking lot. Pool was arrested and released with an appearance ticket to appear in Westfield Village Court on a later date to answer the charge.
