OPEN MEADOWS - Garrett L. "Gary" Fisher, 60, of Open Meadows Road, died Sunday (Aug. 12, 2012) at his home.

He was born May 18, 1952 in Jamestown, the son of George D. and Joanne McMahon Fisher.

Gary owned and operated a dairy farm in Open Meadows, and had also worked at Bush Industries in Jamestown.

He belonged to the Open Meadows United Methodist Church.

Gary loved all of his friends and family. His favorite sports teams were the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed sports, and he loved farming.

He is survived by two daughters, Chelsea Fisher and Amber Fisher both of Open Meadows; his mother, Joanne Fisher of Open Meadows; three sisters, Mary Jo (Frank) D'Aurizio of Irondequoit, N.Y., Shirley (Donald) Hewes of Open Meadows and Carolyn (Dan Milliman) Fisher of Mayville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, George D. Fisher.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 17 in the Open Meadows United Methodist Church in Ashville. Rev. John Bowen will officiate. Burial will be in the Open Meadows Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16 in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville.
