WESTFIELD - Patterson Library is now looking for donations of auction items, big and small, to help make its upcoming fundraiser a big success.
Dinners, artwork, services, antiques and furniture will be among the hundreds of auction items up for bid at the Benefit Auction and Chicken Barbecue Dinner on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Firemen's Exempt Hall on Bourne Street. All proceeds benefit Patterson Library.
A limited number of tickets to the chicken barbecue are available at the library for $10 presale only. Auction attendance is free. The barbecue dinner is available from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., featuring the incredible desserts of Terri Casler. Alcoholic beverages will not be sold, but may be brought by attendees.
Auctioneer David Brown, standing, will be on hand once again this year for the Patterson Library’s Benefit Auction on Wednesday, Aug. 15. The library is currently looking for donated items it can auction off at the fundraiser.
For the smaller items, a silent auction is held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., where great deals are always to be found. Big-ticket items will be featured in a live auction beginning at 6:45 p.m., with auctioneer David Brown leading the proceedings.
Auction items may be dropped off at the library by Tuesday, Aug. 14. The Benefit Auction and Chicken Barbecue Dinner is Patterson Library's major annual fundraiser, with proceeds supporting children's programs and the purchase of new library materials.
