Shingles clinic being offered in Mayville

August 8, 2012
Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

MAYVILLE - Johnson's Village Pharmacy, 99 East Chautauqua Street in Mayville, will sponsor a Zostavax, or Shingles, vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9.

A registered nurse will be on hand to administer the immunizations. Many insurance plans will cover this vaccine, including Medicare D plans. The cost without insurance is $225.

If interested in receiving the vaccine, contact the pharmacy at 753-3200. Those who have had chicken pox are more susceptible to getting the shingles virus and the immunization may reduce the incidence and severity of shingles outbreaks. The pharmacy will contact an individual's doctor and insurance to check coverage. Appointments must be made in advance.
