WESTFIELD - June M. Simpson, age 77, of Clearwater, Fla., and Westfield, N.Y., died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Largo Medical Center, Largo, Fla.

June was born on June 1, 1935 in Westfield, N.Y., the daughter of the late Sam and Carrie (Pullisoto) Cupa.

A Westfield resident most all her life, June had also lived in Clearwater, Fla., during the winters of her retirement years. June had been employed by Seneca Foods for several years. She then ran the kitchen and dining room for the VFW in Westfield from 1977 to 1987. Her love of cooking then lead her to open her own restaurant, Junes Country Kitchen, which she ran from 1988 to 1991. Most recently June had been the Westfield school crossing guard at Spring and Academy Streets in the mid 1990's. June enjoyed and loved being around her family. She was an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan and a loyal Buffalo Bills fan.

Simpson was a member of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church and the Parish's Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of The Women of The Moose Chapter 517, a six time past president of the Wm. P Jackway Post 6764 VFW Auxiliary of Westfield and a member of the Ladies of the Elks of Dunkirk.

She is survived by her husband, James T. Simpson, whom she married on Nov. 6, 1964; her daughter, Jeri (James) Summerville of Westfield; her two granddaughters, Kristen and Megan Summerville both of Westfield; her great granddaughter, Olivia Rose McGill of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews, including Karen Schuller of Clearwater, Fla., and Samuel L. Cupa of Texas, whom she raised.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Sara Gerace and Anna Ortolano; and her two brothers, Sam J. and Frank P. Cupa.

Friends called on Sunday, July 29 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 30 at 11 a.m., at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 15 Union Street, Westfield with Father Joseph Walter officiating. Burial was in St. James Cemetery. A Parish Rosary Service was held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, July 29 at 7 p.m.. Memorials may be made to Charity of choice.
