The Chautauqua County Hiking Club will paddle around Cassadaga Lake on Saturday, Aug. 4 at 1 p.m.
Cassadaga Lakes are a series of three small lakes all connected. This should be an easy paddle suitable for all skill levels. The group will paddle around the perimeter of the lakes. There is a chance to view some wildlife along the way.
Anyone interested in taking part should let the paddle coordinator know they plan to attend by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and leaving a contact number in case of any last minute changes. Participants will meet at the public boat launch at 1 p.m., and bring a kayak or canoe along with drinking water. PFD's are required and the club urges all paddlers to wear them correctly.
The Chautauqua County Hiking Club was formed in 1974. It was founded by the late Herb Hern and is an informal group of people who enjoy the outdoors. All hikes and outings are led by volunteer hike coordinators and are open to anyone who would enjoy participating. The club offers a wide range of activities from hiking, canoeing, kayaking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The many outings include a variety of locations and different skill levels in order to offer something for everyone.
