Ripley Free Library receives gift of art books

RIPLEY - The Ripley Free Library would like to thank the Distribution to Underserved Communities Library Program for its wonderful gift of 27 contemporary art books.

Among this collection, the library received "Andy Warhol: The Last Decade," "Ellis Island: Echoes from a Nation's Past," "Mary Lee Bendolph: Gee's Bend Quilts, and Beyond," "An American Century of Photography," "No Reservations: Native American History and Culture in Contemporary Art," and "David Bates: The Katrina Paintings."

The art books will be processed and in circulation by the end of August. The Ripley Free Library greatly appreciates this wonderful collection from the DUC Library Program.

The Summer Reading Program will end with a pizza party on Tuesday, July 31. Contact the library for more details.

The Ripley Library will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 1 through Friday, Aug. 3 in preparation for its annual book sale. The book sale will begin at 9 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 4.
