Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride

The 29th annual Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, originating and finishing in front of the Eason Hall, 23 Elm Street in Westfield. The mass start begins at 9 a.m. Water and refreshment stops and sag wagon services are provided. Helmets are required. Recreational tours of 25, 40, 62, 75 and 100 miles are offered, with a meal at the finish. Entries postmarked by Friday, July 20 are $18 and include a T-shirt while entries after July 20 and the day of the ride are $20 and receive a Tour of Chautauqua water bottle. Summer Concerts in Moore Park

The Village of Westfield Recreation Department has announced the Concerts in Moore Park Series beginning at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, July 25, the Wallace/Farina Swing Band will perform, sponsored by Robert P. Ducato, Agent, New York Life Insurance Company. On Wednesday, Aug. 1, the Rustic Ramblers will perform, sponsored by Renold Inc.

These performances are free of charge. Remember to bring seating and be prepared to enjoy some great musical entertainment.

In case of rain, the concerts will be held at Absolut at Westfield health care facility, 26 Cass St.

Welch Field summer programs

The Welch Field summer recreation program for school-age kids began on Monday, June 25 at 9 a.m. Parents can still register their children at the program site when dropping their children off. For more information telephone the Welch Field Office at 326-4441.

Skate park hours

The Westfield Skate Park is open Monday through Friday, weather permitting. Helmets are required and a number of them are available for use at the skate park.

Help with yard work and odd jobs

Westfield residents needing help with yard work and odd jobs are asked to call the Westfield Recreation Department at 326-4243 and it will assist in arranging for a local teen to help.

Recreation department programs continue

Adult coed volleyball on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Pilates on Monday and Wednesday 8 to 9 p.m., at Eason Hall
