The course at Pee 'n Peek provided lots of competition when they entertained the Westfield Retiree Golf group of 25 golfers on a warm, windy day on Tuesday, June 26.
Jeff Wagner's low gross score of 86 and Gary Nash' 69 low handicap led the led to first place. Gary Farley had 103, 78 net, and Doug Rothwell's 100, 80 net score, which was not counted, completed the team. Rothwell had the only skin on the first nine, a par four.
Second place went to the team of Al Muck, newcomer John Ellison, Vince Paternosh and Dick Karek, just two strokes behind the leaders.
Muck had a birdie on the par five hole no. 15 for a skin and also a par on no. 10, but it was canceled out with Jim Quinn's four on the same hole. Jeff Greabell's two on the par three 11th hole and a birdie three on the par four 13th hole accounted for all the skins awarded that day.
In third place at 227 was a team of Bill Deuink, another first timer Bard Schaack, Jim Sudal and Butch Joint. Fourth place at 228 was Greabell, Sam Arcadipane, Les Yokom and Bill Rogers.
Closest to the pin was Greabell, just inches from a hole in one on par three no. 10. Quinn was in charge of the day's activities.
