RIPLEY - The Ripley Free Library has an exciting summer planned.
For the Summer Reading Program, Nan Hoffman will be at the library on Thursday, July 5 at 6:30 p.m. Lee Ann Cogdill will return with her dog show on Thursday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m. She supplies the dogs, so do not bring any. Salad Night falls on Thursday, July 19. Everyone in the community is invited to bring a large salad of any kind to share. The library supplies hot dogs and drinks. A sing-a-long and children's book exchange is scheduled for the Thursday, July 26 followed with a pizza party for Summer Reading participants on Tuesday, July 31.
In addition to all this activity, Thackeray, the library cat has been given his own room where he has pulled together some of his favorite books he has agreed to part with. He has selected items including adult fiction, adult nonfiction, children's books, junior books, paperbacks and VHS tapes. Thackeray is requesting a small donation for these items, so stop by and check it out. There is plenty to choose from.
MAYVILLE - The summer reading program at the Mayville Library kicked off on Monday, July 2 at 6 p.m.
Children will be able to register for the program and enjoy a movie and snacks. The elementary program will be held on the following Mondays, July 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 7 p.m. The elementary program will be held on the following Thursdays, July12, 19 and 26 at 4:30 p.m. For more information, phone the library at 753-7362.
Sherman Minerva Library
SHERMAN - All kids in kindergarten through fifth grade in the Sherman area are invited to come to the "Dream Big, Read!" Summer Reading Program at the Sherman Minerva Free Library. It will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The program will continue through the month of July. There will be crafts, snacks and, of course, reading. Come join the summertime fun.
