MAYVILLE - Kristyn M. Guido, 31, of Abror Lane in Buffalo was arrested and charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband on Friday, June 15.
According to the sheriff's office, while being booked into the Chautauqua County Jail on charges of criminal impersonation and theft of services out of the City of Dunkirk around 4:30 p.m., Guido was allegedly discovered attempting to smuggle contraband consisting of tobacco into the jail. Guido was charged and will appear in Chautauqua Town Court on a later date.
PORTLAND - Jonathan A. Lake, 24, of Pilger Place in Orchard Park, N.Y., was charged with unsafe passing, driving while intoxicated and blood alcohol 0.08 percent or more on Saturday, June 16.
According to the sheriff's office, Lake was behind another vehicle being driven by Kristine M. Gehling, 21, of Fredonia around 8:30 p.m. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on West Main Road in the Town of Portland. As Gehling, who was in front of Lake, began to slow down, Lake allegedly attempted to pass Gehling's vehicle on the left. At this point, Gehling allegedly was attempting to make a left hand turn into a driveway and ended up hitting Lake's vehicle on the passenger side. Witnesses state Gehling's vehicle did have its left turn signal on and Lake went to pass anyway. Lake was arrested and taken into custody. He will appear in Portland Town Court on a later date. No injuries were reported during this accident.
