Lenore Larson Bentley, 89, passed away on Jan. 4, 2012, peacefully at her home in Lake Forest, Calif., of congestive heart failure.

She is survived by her two children, son David R. Bentley and daughter Nancy B. Cho, son-in-law Sam Y. Cho, grandson Rick D. Bentley and his wife Sylvia and a great-grand-daughter, Bailey Bentley. Lenore was preceded in death by her husband Ross W. Bentley, who passed away in 2004.

Lenore was born on Nov. 11, 1922 to Ray and Wilhelmina Larson in Ripley, N.Y. Her parents were both Swedish; her father was born in Stockholm, Sweden and her mother's parents were also born in Sweden. Lenore had two older brothers, Fenton and Bernard, and one younger brother, Theron.

Lenore and Ross were married on June 22, 1946 in the Ripley Methodist Church and lived in Ripley until 1956. They moved to Painesville, Ohio and later to Burbank, Calif. After retirement, they moved to Lake Forest, Calif.

Every summer, they would drive cross-country from California to New York to visit family and friends in Ripley. Many relatives and friends still live in Ripley and North East, Pa.

A graveside ceremony will be held Friday, June 22 at 11 a.m., at the Quincy Ripley Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Meeder's Restaurant in Ripley. Family and friends are invited to attend. Lenore's daughter Nancy and son-in-law Sam from Mission Viejo, Calif., will be at the service and luncheon to greet guests.

Memorial gifts can be made to the Presbyterian Church of the Master, 26558 Marguerite Parkway, Mission Viejo, CA 92692. Lenore was a member of the church and very active in the "comforters" women's quilting group. She enjoyed the beautiful church music, the organ and choir.
