NORTH HARMONY - Daniel Oakes, 43, of Ellington was arrested for second-degree aggravated harassment on Wednesday, June 6.
According to the police office, a trooper responded to a harassment complaint in Ashville a few days prior, and the investigation revealed Oakes allegedly followed the complainant and one of her family members in a public environment, and also allegedly sent her an abundance of unwanted text messages. Oakes was processed for the misdemeanor charge at State Police Jamestown, released with an appearance ticket, and is scheduled to appear in North Harmony Town Court later in the month.
SHERMAN - Bryan Bobo, 19, of Waverly, Ohio was arrested for fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of marijuana on Monday, June 4.
According to the police office, a trooper responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 86 in Sherman. The driver allegedly fled the scene in a separate vehicle prior to the trooper's arrival, but witnesses were able to give an accurate description of the driver. An investigation revealed the vehicle was allegedly stolen and the trooper contacted the registered owner in Ohio. The owner stated his vehicle had allegedly been stolen by Bobo. Later in the day, another trooper allegedly observed Bobo on Route 60 in Ellicott and placed him under arrest, including a charge for unlawful possession of marijuana after a marijuana cigarette and a bag containing three grams of marijuana was allegedly located on Bobo's person. Bobo was transported to State Police Jamestown where he was processed, arraigned in Sherman Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
