WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of May.
The sixth grade recipient is Tom Ackendorf. In school, Tom enjoys his physical education class as he likes to be active as much as possible. In his spare time. he enjoys football. In the future, Tom hopes to continue to do well in school and in football and perhaps someday play in the National Football League for the New York Jets.
Maddison Knapp received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, she enjoys her math class as she does well and can get help from her family when she doesn't understand a concept. As a hobby, she enjoys playing basketball. One goal she has for the future is to go to college and become a math teacher.
At the eighth grade level, Judah Herr received this honor. In school, he enjoys his science and social studies classes as they are interesting and fun. Outside of the classroom Judah enjoys unicycling and powerizing. In the future he hopes to become a carpenter.
