WESTFIELD - The Westfield Senior Citizens met at 6 p.m., on Thursday, May 10 at the YWCA with 39 members and one guest in attendance. A delicious dinner was served by the Union Relief Organization.
The meeting was called to order by President Shirley Kolpien. As devotions, Chaplain Joyce Wainwright read a piece called "Beatitudes for Mothers" by Allan Zulker.
New members Barb Travis, Elizabeth McCrody, Bette Morgenstern, Marilyn Norton and Lorraine Brasda were welcomed. Visitor Pat Keller was also welcomed.
The 50/50 drawing was won by Chris Vestrand and the door prize by Carol Young.
Happy birthday wishes went to Al Wainwright, Les Yeaney and Carol Young. Anniversaries were celebrated by Shirley and John Kolpien and Bonnie and Dick Lancaster. Get-well cards were sent to Mary Cogliano and Irma Lloyd and a sympathy card to Carol Reynolds.
The July outing on the Chautauqua Belle was discussed. Members should meet at Mayville Park at 4 p.m., on Thursday, July 12 with a bag lunch and beverage. The boat ride will start at 5 p.m. The cost is $14 to be paid at the time of the boat ride. Reservations should be made to Shirley Kolpien or Dolores Kaufman.
The evening ended with bingo and many unique prizes being won.
The Thursday, June 14 meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the YWCA. Members should bring a dish to pass and their own table service. The kitchen committee of Gladys Hess, Sally Merwin, Audrey Wilkinson, Joyce Wainwright and Trudy Stafford will bring desserts. The scheduled program is an evening of music provided by Kent Knappenberger and his students.
