June 13, 2012
By KEITH ROTHWELL and STEVE WOLEBEN , Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

Thursday, May 17

The calendar says it's still spring, but judging from the 29 golfers who came to the retiree's scramble, we're not so sure it isn't summer. What a lovely day. There were 12 golfers who came for the first time and it was great to see so many there.

First place with three under par: Doug Rothwell; Bob Markham; L. J. Krause; and Stu Delaplane.

Second place with three under par: Dick Furman; John Layton; Trenny Jordan; and Bob Lokieteck.

Third place at two under par: Sam Arcadipane; John Jones; Mike Head; and Rick Lawson.

Fourth place with two under par: Bill Cole; Marty Gollnitz; Jim Sudal; and Les Yokom.

Fifth place with two under par: Dennis Shively; Keith Rothwell; Jim Higginbotham; and Bob Rogers.

Sixth place with two under par: Todd Swanson; Bill Christ; Steve Woleben; and Mel Allen.

Seventh place: Jeff Greabell; Jesse Marino; Glen Eck; and Butch Joint.

Thursday, May 24

Another great turnout for the retiree's scramble. There were 26 members new and old who turned out on a beautiful Thursday morning. Closest to the pin on no. 4 was our own Steve Woleben and on no. 7, happy to see you back, Bard Schaack. Cannot fail to mention how happy we are to welcome back Paul Holser. So glad to have you back Paul.

First place at five under par: Dick Furman; Woleben; Les Yokum; and Mel Allen.

Second place at four under par: Schaack; Ray Cenni; Jim Higgenbothom; and Gary Dibble.

Third place at two under par: Dave Holser; Bob Loketieck; and Bob Rogers.

Fourth place at two under par: Phil Julian; Marty Gollnitz; and Gene Noble.

Fifth place with one under par: Todd swanson; Rick Lawson; Lou Barressi; and Harry Barton.

Sixth place with one under par: Dennis Shively; Trenny Jordon; John Lawyon; and Jesse Marino.

Seventh place with ever par: Sam Arcadipane; Keither Rothwell; and Bill Christ.

The scorecard for this last mentioned team state they were perfect. This writer is unsure if this speaks to their score or the individual golfers.
