WESTFIELD - The Westfield Retiree's Traveling Golf outing was held at Green Meadows Golf Course on Tuesday, May 29.
The weather cooperated nicely with warm weather, though it was quite windy. There were 26 golfers who met at the Moose Lodge to travel to the course.
Medalist was Jeff Wagner with an 85, followed closely by Dick Furman's 88 and Al Muck's 89.
Dick Furek's 67 paved the way to first place in the tourney. Team members were Jim Sudahl, Glenn Eck and Sam Arcadipane. Second place was won by Wagner, Bill Ottaway, Roger Kolpien and Muck. Third place was Todd Swanson, Roy Vahl, Keith Rothwell and Phil Young. Fourth place was Furman, Bob Rogers, Mel Allen and Doug Rothwell. Out of the money in fifth place and just one stroke out of the money were Jesse Marino, Gary Nash, Vinnie Paternosh and Tren Jordan.
Rain came while the golfers were on the course, but it interrupted play for only about 10 minutes.
Skins were earned by: Young, hole no. 3; Sudahl on holes no. 8 and no. 12; Vahl on hole no. 10; Wagner on hole no. 15; Marino on hole no. 16; and Jeff Greabell on hole no. 17.
Closest to the pine were: Dick Kurek on hole no. 3; and Furman on hole no. 16.
