CHAUTAUQUA - The Chautauqua Bird, Tree and Garden Club announces that its biennially sponsored tour of homes will be held on Tuesday, July 17 from noon to 5 p.m. on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution.
There are 12 stops on this self-guided walking tour. The designated homes represent a delightful assembly of summer living styles constructed from early Chautauqua times to the present. The century-old Miller Bell Tower is also a stop on the tour, and refreshments will be served under a tent near-by. Gardens that received a 2011 Chautauqua in Bloom award will be marked on the tour map for visitors to view while strolling through the grounds.
Volunteers at an information table just inside the Chautauqua Main Gate, and hosts in each of the homes, will welcome and assist visitors during the tour. Tickets are $26 per person and must be purchased in advance. Orders are now being accepted by mail. A printable ticket order form may be found at www.ciweb.org/btg or write to 2012 BTG House Tour, P.O. Box 721, Chautauqua, N.Y. 14722. Tickets are limited so order early to avoid disappointment.
