WESTFIELD - Patterson Library will be on extended summer hours as of Friday, June 15, staying open until 5 p.m., on Saturdays. In past years, the library has closed at 1 p.m., on Saturday's throughout the summer, but at a recent meeting the Board of Trustees voted to keep the Library open until 5 p.m., as it is during the rest of the year.
Library Director Eli Guinnee says the change is in response to calls from patrons for more weekend hours during the summer.
"We're so busy during the summer it makes sense to stay open later on Saturdays," he said.
The library will now be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
