RIPLEY - A love of cooking is what prompted Jim and Wendy Eimers to open Papa's Restaurant, located at 9496 East Main Road in Ripley.
"Our goal is to serve the best home cooked meals around, in an atmosphere of fun and friendship," Jim Eimers said.
Specializing in home cooking and generous portions, the Eimers' have created an open, airy restaurant which seats up to 88 customers. The large, hand-built booths can easily seat parties of six and the over-sized family-style table will accommodate a party of eight to 10.
Papa’s Restaurant is now open in Ripley, Tuesday through Sunday, at 9496 East Main Road.
"Our devoted wait and kitchen staff survived opening week of organized chaos and are beginning to work as a well organized team," Eimers said. "They are the best. They are willing to work split shifts when necessary or straight through, as customer flow demands."
Papa's Restaurant serves a wide variety of sandwiches, paninis and salads as well as full course meals for dinner, including sweet and sour meatloaf, pot roast and family recipe Italian specialties. Friday night fish fry, with five fish selections, has been very popular. Local wines and a wide selection of bottled and tap beer are available as well.
The menu is available for dine in, take out or delivery. Restaurant hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"We want to thank everybody who supported our efforts to open, and especially our patrons," Eimers said. "It's a dream come true for us.
