MAYVILLE - Teresa "Terry" M. Burdick, 85, of Evans Street in Mayville, died Saturday (May 12, 2012) at home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1926 in the borough of Queens in New York City, the daughter of the late Richard and Henrietta Lahey.
She had been a legal secretary for Brandt and Laughlin in Mayville for over 30 years and more recently for John P. Rice in Mayville.

Terry was a charter member, life member and the first president of the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post 8647 VFW Auxiliary in Mayville.
She is survived by her children, K.W. "Bill" Burdick, Jeffrey (Barbara) Burdick, Marilyn (Richard) Scarpine, Cindy (Bradley) Hall, Martha (Rick Zentz) Burdick, Melissa Pillsbury and Ronald (Maura Gavin) Burdick; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Burdick whom she married Sept. 11, 1948 in New York City and who died Feb. 21, 1981; and a sister, Martha Smith.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Rev. Cathy Smith, a chaplain from Hospice will officiate. Burial will be in the North Harmony Cemetery.
The family received friends from 3 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 15 in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, N.Y. 14750; or to Mayville Fire Department Rescue Squad, PO Box 2, Mayville, N.Y. 14757.
