20th annual WMH Foundation Golf Tournament to benefit hospital’s ER

May 16, 2012
Westfield Republican

WESTFIELD - The Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation/Hospital Associates will hold its 20th annual Golf Tournament on Friday, July 13.

The announcement was made by Co-Chairs WMHF board member Sid Hoyt and WMHF development director Patricia Gaughan DiPalma who anticipate that 'Friday the 13th' will be a good omen for the hospital foundation and its largest fundraiser.

The tournament, sponsored by the WMH Medical Staff, will be held on the Lake Course at Chautauqua Golf Club. There will be a "scramble format" shotgun start at noon with lunch serviced from 11 a.m. to noon. In addition, there will be a 5 p.m. cocktail reception followed by a prime rib dinner served by Andriaccio's at 6 p.m. Golfers are welcome to invite dinner guests at an additional fee.

As in the past 19 years of the tournament, this year's co-chairs predict much fun for the community hospital's great friends and supporters.

The festivities include gifts for each golfer, including a full-day pass to Chautauqua Golf Club's Learning Center, auctions, raffles and contests, including Closest-To-The-Pin and Longest Drive for both men and women golfers. Raffle tickets are now on sale for the chance to win any of several incredible prizes. The drawing will be held the day of the golf outing and may be purchased at the front desk in the lobby of the hospital, the Emergency Department entry desk, the WMH Foundation office in the hospital, Westfield Farmer's Market and any foundation or hospital board member. Winners need not be present.

Some of the available prizes and their donors include: Grand prize 55" flat screen SONY LCD HD TV courtesy of Fredonia Walmart* valued at $1,000; gilt framed oil painting courtesy of artist Katherine Brown Galbraith valued at $2,000; All Things Chautauqua Package for Two including a room at Chautauqua Suites, lunch at Andriaccio's Family Restaurant, dinner at Olive's, and a round of golf at the Chautauqua Golf Club valued at $425; dining gift basket filled with six $50 gift certificates to outstanding restaurants in hospital's service area valued at $300; two box seat tickets to Buffalo Bills versus Kansas City on Sept. 16 in the Time Warner Box valued at $520; one-year family membership at the Learning Center at Chautauqua Golf Club courtesy of Chautauqua Golf Club valued at $300; and child's pedal car courtesy of Jamestown Plastics valued at $300.
