Union Relief golf tourney May 19

May 16, 2012
Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

WESTFIELD - Two local businessmen have once again come through with a fantastic and generous opportunity to help the community.

Ed Besch and Sam Laporte have teamed up to add excitement and increased donations to the The Union Relief. Players in the upcoming Union Relief Charity Golf Tournament will have a shot at keeping their personal greens in order with a brand new Cub Cadet mower. The formidable piece of equipment has an approximate value of $3,000 and is on display at Laporte Farm Equipment Inc.

The prize will be awarded to the golfer who sinks a hole in one at the number 4 hole at the May 19 golf event which will be held at Pinehurst Golf Course. The sizable donation doesn't have either one hoping the golfers will miss. The men have taken out a "hole in one" policy through Bristol-Burgess Insurance and are very much hoping to be able to give away the prize.

Union Relief supports the local community in many ways throughout the year; however they are most noted for their annual Charity Ball and their tremendous Christmas Project which supports needy families in the community.
