WESTFIELD - Vincent "Vince" Menditto, age 90, of Hanover Manor, Ashland, Va., formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., Delran, N.J. and Royal Palm Beach, Fla, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, Va.

Vince was born on Nov. 6, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of the late Giro and Emmaculata (Catalano) Menditto.

An U.S. Army veteran of both World War II and Korea, Vince served his country with honor from 1942 until 1951 attaining the rank of Corporal. He married Caroline Marino on Feb. 26, 1946 in Westfield and the two of them moved to Philadelphia, Pa., to begin their new life together. They resided in New Jersey for 23 years and finally retired to Royal Palm Beach, Fla., in 1986.Vince had been living in Virginia for the past several years. Vince and Caroline were frequent visitors to Westfield almost every summer.

Vince was a member of the Teamster Local 107 of Philadelphia, Pa., having driven for Maisland Transportation of Montreal, Canada for many years, retiring in 1986. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 0258 of Palm Beach, Fla.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherrill Ann McNulty and husband Tim of Soquel, Calif., and his son:, Brian G. Menditto and wife Leigh, of Mechanicsville, Va. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Jared and Brett McNulty, Anna, Spencer and Joey Menditto and his two sisters, Jennifer A. Menditto and Lee Tricker, both of California. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Vince was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline (Marino) Menditto, his two sisters, Adele Bittner and Frances DiNucci, and his brother, Samuel Menditto.

Friends and family were invited to attend a graveside service to be held in Westfield Cemetery, Academy Street, Westfield, N.Y. on Saturday, May 5 at 2 p.m. with nephew David Henning officiating. Memorials on Vincent's behalf may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glenn Allen, VA. 23060.
