Florence Maie Harris Aldrich, 97 of Palm Bay, Fla., formerly of Sherman, N.Y., died April 30, 2012.
She was born April 21, 1915, in Sherman, N.Y., the daughter of the late Murray Dwight Harris and Beulah Evelyn Weitzel Harris. Florence graduated in the Class of 1934 from Sherman Central High School, Sherman, N.Y.
She was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church, Sherman, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for over 40 years. She moved to Palm Bay, Fla., in 1985 residing in The Shire, then in Palm Bay Colony.
She is survived by a son, David Cleon Aldrich of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Joyce Ann Aldrich Bancroft of Harpswell, Maine and Barbara Jean Aldrich Robbins of Palm Bay, Fla.; sister Evelyn Harris Kline of Traverse City, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleon Ralph Aldrich (1912-1962) whom she married Aug. 2, 1935, her brother and sisters, Donald Harris, Geneva Harris Tanner, Frances Harris Conner and Dorothy Harris Titus.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 12 at the First Baptist Church, Sherman, N.Y., with Rev. Paul Sears, pastor of the Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Arrangements are being handled by the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, N.Y.
