BEMUS POINT - Marsha A. Flowers, 60, of Bemus Point, N.Y., formerly of Bradford, Pa., died Saturday (May 5, 2012) at her home.
She was born April 3, 1952 in Bradford, the daughter of the late John and Ann Veritz Matis.
Mrs. Flowers attended Bradford Area High School and Slippery Rock University. She worked as quality control coordinator at Dresser Manufacturing for 15 years, owner/operator of M&M Pastry and The Kennedy Street Caf for five years, culinary vocational instructor at FCI Mckean for 15 years and banquet manager at The Village Casino in Bemus Point for 10 years.
Marsha was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Bradford, St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bemus Point, and was a former member of the Power Boat Club.
She was an avid gardener and loved to entertain, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, needlework and skiing.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Michael Flowers, whom she married Dec. 14, 1985 in Bradford; a daughter, Joanne (Donald) Hennessy of North Palm Beach, Fla.; two sons, Robert (Christine) Flowers of New Rochelle, N.Y., and Jason (Leslie) Flowers of Bradford; two grandchildren, Jackson Flowers and Macie Flowers; two brothers, John (Kathryn) Matis of San Diego, Calif., and Mark Matis of Coco Beach, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Carson Michael Flowers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Thursday, May 10 in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bemus Point, Rev. Msgr Leo Gallina and Rev. Todd Remick will officiate. Burial will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery.
The family received friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, May 9 in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville.
