WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of February.
The sixth grade recipient is Madison Schroeder. In school, Madison enjoys her math and social studies classes, as they are both exciting classes. In her spare time she enjoys basketball and cheerleading, as well as spending time with her family and friends. In the future she hopes to do well in school and become a lawyer or an architect.
Alaina Cockram received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, she enjoys her science class, as it is very interesting, and her language arts class, as she is able to write. As a hobby she enjoys reading and writing, especially about animals. One goal she has for the future is to become as scientist and work at a Wolf Conservation Center.
At the eighth grade level, Cameron Abbey-Mott received this honor. In school, she enjoys her science class because of the interesting labs and music because they are able to learn to play different instruments. Outside of the classroom, Cameron enjoys playing soccer. In the future she hopes to attend Cornell University and become a veterinarian.
