MAYVILLE - Simon P. Gogolack, 28, of Trapping Brook Road in Wellsville, N.Y., was charged with second-degree assault on Wednesday, March 21.
According to the sheriff's office, while confined at the Chautauqua County Jail on a charge of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, Gogolack assaulted inmate James M. Patrick, 32, of Sturges Street in Jamestown in the jail on Friday, March 16. This attack resulted in Patrick receiving a broken jaw and broken tooth. Patrick was treated at ECMC for his injuries. Gogolack was charged and remains confined in the jail.
RIPLEY - Scott M. Connors, Jr., 21, of East Street in North East, Pa., was charged with inadequate headlights and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Friday, March 23.
According to the sheriff's office, Connors was stopped around 9:30 p.m., on East Main Road in the Town of Ripley for having only one working headlamp. Further investigation revealed Connors' operating status in New York State was allegedly suspended on Dec. 23, 2008 and again on April 25, 2010 and allegedly has never been restored. Connors was taken into custody and later released with appearance tickets.
RIPLEY - Carlo A. Gervasio, 36, of West Main Street in Ripley was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on a warrant for criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment on Monday, March 26.
According to the sheriff's office, it executed the arrest at around 9:30 p.m., and Gervasio was taken into custody. The warrant stemmed from an incident which allegedly occurred on Saturday, March 24 in the Town of Ripley. Gervasio was arraigned in Ripley Town Court and then remanded to jail on $2,000 cash bail.
