I want to thank everyone who was involved in my run for Village Trustee. From the soup supper to the placement of signs, many people have helped physically, financially and with their words of advice.
There are far too many people to list individually but I would especially like to thank Wendy Gollnitz-Santilli; my "Call Bank" friends and family; everyone who called and volunteered to help me; former Assemblyman Bill Parment; the wonderful people at the Board of Elections; the entire Catalano family and especially Sally Catalano who, with her almost daily guidance, understanding, physical and emotional support - and hugs - got me through this experience.
I would also like to thank all of the wonderful citizens of this village who took the time out of their busy schedules to speak with me. From the residents at Absolut, the various organizations I heard from and visited, and also my door-to-door visits, I have had the opportunity to learn a lot about you, and your thoughts about Westfield. From our chats on front porches to chats on the phone, I loved hearing from you. I thoroughly enjoyed this part of the "campaign experience" the most. One of my biggest disappointments was not getting to speak with more people than I found the time and energy to get out and meet. Democrats, Republicans, and everyone else, I found that we often had the same views and opinions about things - how refreshing. Of course my biggest disappointment is not having won the position to be your newest representative on the Village Board. I feel I would have been spectacular at the job.
I encourage all of you to keep up your enthusiasm, question your current Trustees and the Mayor as to what they are doing to help you, and get to the Village Board meetings. So many of you voiced your issues to me, now voice it to them.
With Many Thanks and Fondness,
