PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla - Ruth W. Hogan, a former resident of Westfield, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 10, 2012 in The Palms Assisted Living Facility in Port St. Lucie, with two of her loving nieces by her side.
Born Jan. 14, 1925 in Westfield, N.Y., she was the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Clark) Walker. On May 23, 1953 she married Ronald V. Hogan, who predeceased her Jan. 25, 2005.
Mrs. Hogan was a graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School and was first employed at the Ajax Flexible Coupling Co. in Westfield. After moving to Allegany, N.Y., in the 1950's she worked as an executive secretary to the president of Dresser Clark Co. in Olean until her retirement in 1987. She and her husband then moved to Florida where they enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle. She was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church.

Surviving are one sister, Emma W. (Hayden) Hanks of Amesbury, Mass., and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Alfred E. Walker in 1968; a sister, Dorothy W. Cochran; and a sister, Alice W. Lant who died only three days prior to Ruth.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany, N.Y., on March 17. If desired, memorial donations may be made to a local Hospice organization of the donor's choice.
