DEWITTVILLE Ronald H. Miller, 78, of 6021 Centralia-Hartfield Road, Dewittville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday (March 10, 2012) from Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, Pa.
He was born Sept. 30, 1933 in Olney, Ill., the son of the late Harris W. and Pauline "Polly" Fisher Miller.
Ron worked for several years in the oil and gas industry, retiring in 2001 from J.C. Trahan Drilling and Trahan Petroleum as vice president.

He was a member of the Mayville First Baptist Church, Michigan Oil and Gas Assoc., New York Independent Oil and Gas Assoc., and Illinois Oil and Gas Assoc.
Ron enjoyed traveling, picking morel mushrooms, gardening, keeping track of the oil and gas industry and cooking his family's Sunday dinner. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Pam Zabloudil of Summerville, Ill., Glenn (Pam) Miller of Green Camp, Ohio, Ronda (Laury) Graves of Perrysville, Ind., Teresa Sue (Mark) Arrance of Kennedy, Polly (Carl) Pillittieri of Jamestown, Ronald H. Miller Jr. of Dewittville, Joanie M. (Jim) Thompson of Randolph, and Mary Ann Miller of Saukville; a daughter in-law, Mary Jane Pifer of Virginia; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Rachel, Ronald, and Ruth Pifer of Virginia, Matthew, Melinda, and Molly Arrance of Kennedy, Sarah Pillittieri of Jamestown, Dante Jordan Thompson of Randolph, Jonathan Owen Barnes, Jr. of Saukville, Wis., Eric and Tiffany Miller of Ohio, Chris and Todd Collins of Ohio, Judy Callahan of Ohio, and Kailee Graves of Texas; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Horrall of Missouri and Ken Horrall of Olney, Ill.; one sister, Cheryl Billick of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Mae (Pifer) Miller, whom he married Oct. 7, 1963 and who died March 24, 2011; one daughter, Delores Sherry Miller; and two sons, Leroy Pifer and Joseph H. Pifer.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 14 in the Mayville First Baptist Church. Rev. Ray Mitchell officiated. Burial was in the Dewittville Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville.
