WESTFIELD - Anna Clara Kneer, 95, Westfield, N.Y., died Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Absolut Care of Westfield, Westfield, N.Y., where she had made her home. She was born Oct. 12, 1916 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Emil and Anna (Bondy) Gunther. Mrs. Kneer had been a Westfield resident since moving from Canastio, N.Y., in 1955. She had been employed and active in local businesses and most recent by Better Baked Foods' Westfield plant for 11 years as a floorlady prior to her retirement in 1986.
On March 26, 1944 she married Robert N. Kneer Sr., in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr. Kneer died on Sept. 17, 1989. Mrs. Kneer is survived by her two sons, Rob (Donna) Kneer and Ed (Ann) Kneer; one sister, Irene Johnson; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Robert Sr., Mrs. Kneer is pre-deceased by her daughter, Roberta Kneer who passed away Aug. 13, 2001; three sisters, Viola Gunther, Josephine Horton and Helen Amoto; and her brother, Emil Gunther, Sr.
Anna loved spending time with her friends, but cherished the times spent with her family the most.
Friends called Wednesday, Feb. 29 at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield from 3 to 7 p.m., where funeral services followed immediately at 7 p.m., William Leslie, Hospice Chautauqua County Chaplin, officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
