TO: July 1977
I decided to bring a bit of Clymer news this week. Since it no longer has a news person in its area I thought folks might enjoy some tidbits written some years ago by the late Gertrude Gravink.
The city mission truck will be in the last week of July to pick up papers, so bring yours.
Miss Marjorie Tewinkle was honored at a bridal shower on Wednesday evening given by Beth Bailey and Sharon Goodman. The party was held in the recreation room at the Bailey residents and decorated blue and yellow. Gifts were arranged on a large table and the bride-to-be was assisted by her sisters, Renee and Louann.
An interesting game was the showing of pictures thrown on a screen of the bride- and groom to-be from a very young age to the present day. Guests were present from Erie, Corry, Columbus, Spartanburg and Clymer. The bride-to-be received many gifts. The door prize was won by Mrs. Mary Bates of Corry.
A joint 50th wedding anniversary open house will be held on July 10 at Edward's Chapel United Methodist Church from 2 to 5 o'clock honoring Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hunink and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cady. This will be given by Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hunink; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cady from El Canyon, Calif; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Cady of Pleasanton, Calif. The honored guests invite all relatives and friends and request no gifts.
I don't know how many folk in Clymer still get the Sentinel News, but if anyone in that area would like news in it, or in the Post Journal, they many send it to Elaine Cole at 2542, Rt. 76, Panama, N.Y., or call her at 761-6857. The deadline is early Friday morning.
An open house and reception will be held Sunday, July 10, to honor Mr. and Mrs. Donald Arnick of Corry on their 25th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Geiger, Ann, Tim and Jeff, spent the long weekend in Lakewood, Ohio with relatives.
