BROCTON - Richard A. Harrell, 50, of East Main Street in Brocton was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on charges of violation of probation after an attempt to serve a warrant on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies along with Sheriff K9 Unit responded at around 10 p.m., to attempt to serve a warrant on Harrell. He was wanted by Chautauqua County court for violation of probation. Harrell was taken into custody without incident and remanded to jail with no bail set at this time.
RIPLEY - Jonathan L. Kleas, 23, of Goodrich Street in Ripley was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail after being charged with third-degree facilitating aggravated unlicensed operation on Thursday, Jan. 26.
According to the sheriff's office, Kleas was picked up around 8:45 p.m. on a Ripley Town Court warrant. Kleas was arraigned in Ripley Town Court and remanded to jail.
SHERMAN - Sharon L. Przybylski, 38, of Lincoln Street in Jamestown was charged with failure to keep right, unlicensed driver, uninspected vehicle, uninsured vehicle and aggravated driving while intoxicated on Friday, Jan. 27.
According to the sheriff's office, Przybylski was allegedly traveling east on I-86 in Sherman around 11:30 p.m., where she lost control of her vehicle and traveled off the road into the median. An investigation led to the charges. Przybylski was not injured and will appear in Sherman Town Court on a later date.
FRENCH CREEK - Joshua P. Black, 18, of Findley Lake was charged with unlawful possession alcohol under 21 and windows less than 70 percent light admittance on Friday, Jan. 27.
According to the sheriff's department, at around 11:45 p.m., patrol stopped a vehicle on Ravlin Hill Road in French Creek for allegedly having window tint darker than 70 percent light admittance. The operator was identified as Black. Following an investigation, Black was cited for unlawful possession of alcohol under 21. He will appear in French Creek Court on a later date.
WESTFIELD - Larry Wilkens, 77, of Westfield, Joyce Wilkens, 73, of Westfield and Marilyn Ferree, 59, of Ripley were involved in a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Sunday, Jan. 29.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded at around 6 p.m., to a two-vehicle head-on collision on Route 20 in the Town of Westfield. Upon arrival and further investigation, it was determined that Larry Wilkens was operating his vehicle headed east on Route 20 while, at the same time, ferree was operating her vehicle west on Route 20. Ferree allegedly lost control of her vehicle due to slippery road conditions and poor visibility. ferree's vehicle allegedly proceeded into the oncoming land of traffic and into Wilkens' lane of travel. The two vehicles collided into each other head on. Ferree, Larry Wilkens and his passenger, Joyce Wilkens, were all taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for their injuries. There were not charges filed in the collision due to the poor weather conditions.
NORTH HARMONY - Steven Munday, 28, and Sean Munday, 23, both of High Acres were involved in a motor vehicle accident on Monday, Jan. 30.
According to the sheriff's office, Steven Munday was allegedly operating a 2002 Ford Explorer on SR 394 around 8 a.m., and failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle came to rest after entering a large ditch on the west side of the highway. Steven Munday was transported to WCA Hospital for minor injuries. Passenger Sean Munday was treated at the scene for minor injuries. No charges at this time.
