WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of December.
The sixth grade recipient is Nick Presto. In school, Nick enjoys his science and social studies classes as he gets to learn about interesting topics. In his spare time, he enjoys building and often uses Legos to create things. In the future, he hopes use this skill and become a carpenter.
Sydnee Abele received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, she enjoys her language arts and social studies classes, especially the opportunity to learn about the country's past in both these classes. As a hobby, she enjoys writing. One goal she has for the future is to attend Penn State and major in journalism.
At the eighth grade level, Kylan Connolly received this award. In school, he enjoys many of his classes and the variety of skills they incorporate. Outside of the classroom, Kylan enjoys listening to music and also creating and playing it. In the future he hopes to attend college and major in engineering, art and guitar.
