WESTFIELD — Joseph D. Burdic, 20, of Westfield was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny on Friday, Jan. 6. According to the police office, at around 11 p.m., police investigated a domestic incident involving Burdic and a female. Allegedly, Burdic destroyed property of the victim and stole the victim’s cell phone after a verbal altercation. Burdic fled the scene prior to the police arrival. An arrest warrant was issued and Burdic turned himself into Westfield Police on Sunday, Jan. 8 and was arraigned by Judge Thomas of Westfield Village Court. Burdic was released on his own recognizance and is expected to return to court on a later date.
