WESTFIELD — A 19-year-old male from Mayville was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on charges of fail to keep right, fail to maintain lane and driving while intoxicated on Thursday, Dec. 29. According to the police office, at around 6:30 a.m., officers stopped a car for allegedly failing to keep right and failing to maintain driving lane. During the traffic stop, the 19-year-old male was allegedly operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. The male was arrested and refused a chemical test. The 19-year-old was arraigned in Westfield Court and he was unable to post bail. He is due in Westfield Village Court on a later date. WESTFIELD — John M. Wells, 28, of Westfield was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on charges of second-degree reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment on Monday, Jan. 2. According to the police office, at 4:15 p.m., officers investigated an incident involving Wells who allegedly struck a pregnant female multiple times while children under the age of 17 were present. Wells was arrested, arraigned in front of Judge Laporte and committed to jail on $1,000 or $2,000 property bail.
